The successful testing and prototyping of the SmartWall prefabricated panels led to the finalisation of their design and the preparation of their installation at Xanthi’s student dormitory. The manufacturing of SmartWall panels is in progress.

SmartWall panel prototypes were tested by different correlated standards so as to validate their safe and durable operation. Fire and earthquake tests were successfully completed, whereas the thermal properties and structural performance were also defined by the use of appropriate simulation software. The completion of the testing process led to the finalisation of the SmartWall panels design and the selection of the appropriate materials. At this moment, the construction of the final SmartWall products is in progress, and soon the prefabricated panels will be ready for transport.
By finalising the production of the SmartWall panels and transporting them to the installation site, the main objective of the REHOUSE Project will be achieved as SmartWall Renovation Package will be demonstrated (operational environment – TRL7), contributing to the quicker renovation of the building with minimum disturbance for the occupants.
In the framework of the REHOUSE project, AMS, as the provider of the SmartWall technology, will have the opportunity to develop and enhance the SmartWall concept and design and to also ensure its safety and functionality. AMS aims to deliver by the end of the project a technical and efficient solution that addresses the social and European-driven need for renovating the old European building stock, leading to the consequent reduction of buildings’ energy consumption.
