Save the date, 31^st October in Rome, REHOUSE Conference: ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN, BUILDING & MATERIALS, SYSTEMS, AIR CONDITIONING & DIGITALIZATION

In the framework of Rehouse project activities, ENEA will organize the Conference “Architecture & Design, Construction & Materials, Systems, Air Conditioning & Digitalization”, within the Building, Architecture and Design, EdilsocialExpo B-CAD 2024 Fair, taking place on oct 31^st in “La Nuvola Convention Center”, one of the most visionary and iconic buildings of the city of Rome, designed by famous Fuksas architects with eco-friendly materials and innovative technological solutions.

REHOUSE project aims at contributing to the achievement of the ambitious European ‘zero emissions’ goal by 2050 by energy and structural requalification of buildings, and in particular social housing. As part of this project, ENEA is committed to coordinating the energy efficient and low environmental impact requalification activities of the Italian demo-site, a social building located in Margherita di Savoia, in the Puglia region.

This Conference will be a great opportunity for experts of ENEA and of the other partners involved in REHOUSE project, ARCA Capitanata, Tera, RI Group, SUPSI, Steeltech Università della Basilicata and Regione Puglia, to present in detail the overall energy and structural re-qualification activities planned for the Italian demonstration site. The aspects that will be considered are numerous and diversified, a particular focus will be dedicated to presenting the methodology used for the integrated design, the instrumental diagnosis of the building and the participatory design, the innovations foreseen in plant re-qualification, the Energy Audit with innovative technologies, the structural seismic assessment of the building, the use of BIM in social housing to support maintenance, IoT technology for monitoring, the industrial prefabrication approach for energy saving, the comfort of building envelopes and the absorption of CO2 in the value chains of construction materials, and finally the fundamental role and involvement of tenants in integrated design.

The Conference will allow to deepen and evaluate the innovative interventions foreseen by designers for Margherita di Savoia public housing building, share methodologies and good practices, and demonstrate how the energy and structural requalification of a public housing building can represent a driver for social and economic growth in a specific territory, and thanks to the implementation of innovative technologies.

A representative of the European Commission, DG ENER, will also participate to the event, providing insights on current national and European policies for the re-qualification of building heritage.
