NEWS: REHOUSE Presents Paper on Building Energy Retrofits Presented at ISAS 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

REHOUSE project colleague Pásztory Zoltán from WOODSPRING submitted a research paper, titled Applied Sciences in Building Retrofits at the 2024 International Symposium on Applied Science (ISAS) on October 18, hosted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT). The paper explores the energy demands of Europe’s aging building stock, a significant contributor to global energy consumption, and discusses approaches to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Focusing on the EU-funded REHOUSE project, the paper details eight innovative retrofit solutions for existing buildings. These solutions include active energy-saving technologies such as multi-sourced heat pumps and smart wall systems, along with passive options like adaptable building envelopes and cellulose-based insulation.

By showcasing these applied-science-based solutions, REHOUSE aims to address practical challenges in energy retrofitting while contributing to sustainable goals for the building sector.
